Haus Sado Workshop - April 20th Saturday
Haus Sado Workshop - April 20th Saturday
For centuries, the tea ceremony has been accessible to only its practitioners and those elite enough to merit an invitation. Cha Haus is working to change this, with a series of workshops that peel back the curtain on this hidden world.
As ambassadors of Japanese tea, we're making "sado" more accessible by sharing our knowledge of the tea ceremony and the qualities of Japanese culture. And the best part is that it doesn't require any great commitment of time or money. Welcome to our workshop.
We'll equip you with the skills to prepare and enjoy matcha at home. With only a "chasen" tea whisk and our guidance, you can start making elements of the tea ceremony a part of your daily life right away. Of course, not many of us have the traditional implements for traditional tea preparation in our kitchen drawers, so we'll show you some alternatives, using items commonly found in Australian households.
Today's lesson on brewing matcha is not just about following steps; it's about being present in the moment and savoring the aroma, flavor, and texture. We hope to serve as your gateway to Japan and its tea culture. Let's begin.
