Current Openings

1. Event Staff (Part-Time / Casual)

Location: Prahran Market (weekends and weekdays)
Employment Type: Casual / Part-Time
Salary: Award-based compensation

Summary:
Cha Haus is seeking enthusiastic event staff to join our popup store team at Prahran Market. You’ll be the face of Cha Haus, serving matcha lattes and other teas, selling our signature chocolates, and ensuring each customer has a memorable experience. Barista experience is a plus!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sell matcha lattes, teas, chocolates, and other products
  • Provide excellent customer service and product explanations
  • Support with stock management, setup, and pack-down
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the stall

Requirements:

  • Business-level English and Japanese (spoken)
  • Barista or retail experience is a plus
  • Friendly, reliable, and passionate about customer experience
  • Must have access to a car
  • Available weekends (Saturdays and Sundays)

2. Tea Workshop Instructor (Contract Basis)

Location: Melbourne (community centres, schools, businesses)
Employment Type: Contract
Salary: Based on experience

Summary:
We are looking for passionate individuals to lead Japanese tea workshops across Melbourne. These workshops are held irregularly and can fit around your existing commitments. If you love Japanese tea and want to share that passion with others, this might be the perfect side job!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver workshops on Japanese tea culture and preparation
  • Educate participants on tea history, types, and brewing methods
  • Prepare materials, manage tea utensils, and create an engaging experience
  • Adapt the tone and format for different audience types

Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Passion for Japanese tea and culture
  • Must have access to a car for travel
  • Ability to wear traditional attire (e.g., kimono, yukata) is a plus
  • Experience in tea ceremony, calligraphy, ikebana, or traditional arts is a bonus
  • Hospitality, presentation, or teaching experience is a plus
